Senior State Accountant: Finance

Requirements

Three (3) years tertiary or equivalent qualification in Finance/Accounting. Two (2) years functional experience in Financial Management Services. Knowledge: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Financial prescript and manuals, Batho Pele Principles, Departmental Policies and Procedure, Conflict. Skills: Planning and organising, Computer Literacy, Communication, Problem solving, Supervisory, Accounting, Presentation, Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Authorise all financial transactions for the whole Province on financial transversal system (e.g. BAS LOGIS, PERSAL AND Safety-net). (Daily). Verify information to ensure proper financial documents management. Monitor budget process for the province. Proper control of Petty case. Clear suspense account and unallocated accounts before month closure.
