Requirements
Applicable four-year post-school qualification in Psychology, Industrial Psychology or Educational Psychology at NQF 8; Registration as an Independent Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA); A valid Code 8 driving licence. Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Health Professions Act, 1974; HPCSA Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice for Psychometrists; Employment Equity Act, 1998; Labour Relations Act, 1995; POPIA, 2013; PAJA, 2000; PAIA, 2000; HPCSA policies and training requirements; classification of psychological tests; SIOPSA code of practice; Continuous Professional Development requirements; Maintenance of professional registration through participation in Continuous Professional Development; Culture and leadership theory and models; organisational performance and organisation development; public management theory and practice; mentoring/coaching; research methods and statistics; statutory public-service framework; Skills in the following: Analytical and critical reasoning; basic numeracy; conceptual and interpretive skills; diagnostic and innovative problem-solving skills; Planning and organising; project management; research skills; proficiency in MS Office and assessment-centre related systems; Strong verbal and written communication, report writing and presentation skills; interviewing and listening skills; Interpersonal, networking, conflict-management, negotiation, persuading and influencing, mentoring and coaching skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver competency assessment services, including assessment planning, preparation, administration, scoring and processing; Interpret assessment results and provide feedback to panels, individuals and development line managers; Provide psychometric advisory services, expert input and behavioural/assessment-related interventions; Conduct research on psychometric tools and practices, develop psychometric solutions, and compile trend analysis reports; Ensure ethical, professional and legislative compliance in all psychometric activities; Maintain assessment-centre information, records, databases and resources, and contribute to project planning, monitoring, reporting and quality assurance; Contribute to psychometric project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement.
