Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. OR - A 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. OR - A 3-year Diploma in General Nursing (R171) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse. Registration with a Professional Council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. The post basic nursing qualification of the duration of 1 year, accredited with SANC in Midwifery and Neonatal nursing. A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. At least 1 year of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1 year Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science qualification. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) (2026/2027). Knowledge And Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of key priority health programs. Knowledge and understanding of the National Core Standards and Ideal clinic realization program. Strong management and leadership skills. Computer literacy.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that a holistic nursing care service is delivered to patients in a cost effective, efficient an equitable manner by Nursing Units. Ensure compliance to professional and ethical practice. Detailed key performance areas can be obtained from the contact person.
