Director: Transport Safety Promotion

Requirements

A National Senior Certificate / an equivalent plus an appropriate qualification (NQF 7) in Public Administration/Management / Social Sciences/Office Administration or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field / area as recognized by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Proof of completion of the SMS pre-entry programme (Nyukela) upon the appointment. Five (5) years’ experience at middle / senior managerial level in the same or related field. Valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities). Core And Process Competencies: Strategic Capability and Leadership; Knowledge of Change management principles; People Management and Empowerment, Programme and Project Management; Financial Management, Computer Literacy; Knowledge Management, Service Delivery Innovation; Problem Solving and Analysis; Client Orientation and Customer Focus; Communication; Negotiation skills and understanding supply chain management principles. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service i.e Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Public Finance Management Act, Labour Relations Act, Skills Development Act, etc. Knowledge And Skills Extensive knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service i.e. Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Public Finance Management Act, Labour Relations Act, Skills Development Act, etc. Ability to work in a highly pressured environment and driven by a sense of urgency to meet deadlines. Financial Management, Strategic capability and leadership, People Management and empowerment, Programme and project management, Service delivery innovation, problem solving analysis, client orientation and customer focus, communication. Extensive experience in Human resource development, skills development and training. Sound and in-depth experience and knowledge of 141 PUBLIC relevant prescripts, policies, processes, procedures in Public Service. Ability to work in a highly pressured environment and driven by a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage and monitor the implementation of transport and community safety education promotion and community outreach policies and strategies in the province. Manage and monitor the implementation of community and transport safety education programmes and communication strategies. Manage and evaluate the execution of transport and community and transport safety education and communication performance plans in the province. Manage and evaluate the impact of community and transport safety community outreach awareness performance plans, policies and strategies in the province. Manage and utilize resources (financial, human and physical) in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.
