Deputy Director: Trade And Investment Promotion

Requirements

Grade 12 plus an NQF 6 in Economics / Development Economics / Marketing / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship or equivalent as recognised by SAQA. Five (5) years of experience within investment promotion/facilitation landscape of which three (3) years must be at supervisory level (Assistant Director level). Valid driver’s license (with exception of persons with disability). Skills And Knowledge: Good knowledge and understanding of legislative framework governing public service, Sound and in-depth knowledge and experience of relevant macro and micro economic policies. Strategic and analytical thinking skills. Financial and human resource management skills. Computer literacy. People management and empowerment skills, Negotiating skills. Report writing skills. Presentation skills. Communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure formulation and review of investment promotion/facilitation strategies and plans. Facilitate the implementation of investment promotion/facilitation programs. Facilitate the uptake of support offerings aimed at investment promotion. Research on existing and emerging provincial investment opportunities for packaging and marketing. Collaborate with key stakeholders in utilising strategic partnerships (multi- and Bilateral agreements) for marketing our provincial investment opportunities. Ensure optimal participation at investment promotion platforms. Liaise with a wide spectrum of stakeholders on policy issues related to promotion of investment opportunities. Ensure the management and monitoring of customised incentive packages. Enhance update of national trade promotion incentives by provincial enterprise. Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls within the unit.
