Assistant Director: Municipal Revenue And Debt Management

Requirements

A relevant degree/advanced diploma (NQF level 7) in Financial Management/Financial Accounting/Management Accounting or equivalent qualification with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an accounting environment. Knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Municipal Property Rates Act (MPRA), Municipal budgets and reporting regulations, Treasury Regulations and Municipal Finance Management Circulars. Must possess the following skills: analytical, basic numerical, negotiating, reporting, presentation, communication, and action oriented. Computer literate. A valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of revenue management by targeted municipalities. Support the implementation of debt management by municipalities. Provide advice and technical guidance on revenue related tariffs, policies, and tariff setting related to the revenue management cycle. Provide advice and technical guidance on revenue and debt management. Support and assist with the co-ordination of training to build capacity in municipalities.
