Assistant Director: Management Accounting

Requirements

An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 6) in finance related field with at least 5 years’ experience in finance environment of which 3 years should be at supervisory level. Must have working experience on the Basic Accounting System (BAS). An NQF level 7 in Finance related field and working experience on PERSAL will be an added advantage. Knowledge Competencies and skills: Must have good communication and presentation skills. Good analytical, problem solving and report writing skills. Must be a team player, flexible and reliable. Knowledge requirements: Good understanding of the PFMA and Treasury Regulations. Good knowledge of Modified Cash Standards and basic understanding of the SCM processes.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for providing financial planning and reporting for the department in accordance with the prescripts. This entails preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and Interim Financial Statements (IFS). Providing financial planning in accordance with the prescripts and Management of Expenditure. Provide BAS System Controller. Supervision of staff.
