Assistant Director: Energy Statistics

Requirements

An appropriate Advanced Diploma/Degree in Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Management, Mathematics, Qualitative Management, Energy Studies and Datametrics at NQF Level 7 recognised by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA), plus 3 years’ relevant experience. Knowledge of: Energy industry, Data management, Project Management principles. Understanding data sourcing and collection technique (e.g. various sampling techniques that may be used to conduct different types of surveys), Data Quality Framework, Data and statistical analysis. Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills, Project Management and negotiation skills, Computer, Time Management and Statistical analysis skills. Thinking Demands: Rigorous non-corruption thinking, Analytical mindset and up to date with global issues regarding energy.

Key Responsibilities

Collect all data and information required for planning and reporting from various data providers. Ensure proper storage, management and retrieval of data. Quality assurance and control of data. Compile monthly questionnaires/reports. Compile energy commodity flows for coal, electricity, petroleum products and natural gas. Provide managerial activities.
