Assistant Director: Community Policing Policy

Requirements

A National Senior Certificate / an equivalent plus an appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF 6) in Social Sciences / Public Administration / Research/ Criminology / Policing or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field / area as recognized by the South African Qualification Authority SAQA). 3 - 5 years’ experience at supervisory level in the same or related field. Valid Driver’s Licence (Except for people with disabilities). Core And Process Competencies: Strategic Capability and Leadership, People Management and Empowerment, Programme and Project Management, Financial Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Service Delivery Innovation, Problem Solving and Analysis, Client Orientation and Customer Focus, Communication. Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of policies that inform Crime Prevention: NCPS and PSPS, Knowledge of relevant legislations, Knowledge on the operation of SAPS, Knowledge of Policies related to Community Safety partnerships, Record keeping skills, Problem solving skills, Communication skills, Report writing skills, Presentation skills, Conflict Management skills, Policy analysing skills, Record keeping skills.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the development of policing policies. Coordinate policy consultation workshops. Facilitate the implementation of policing policy. Manage stakeholder relations.
