What Roles Are Available at Home Affairs This Week?

Civic Services Clerk (X18 Posts)

This is the largest single intake in Circular 19 of 2026. Civic Services Clerks are stationed at Home Affairs offices across multiple provinces and assist members of the public with identity documents, birth certificates, passports, marriages, and deaths. The salary is R280,278 per year at Level 06. Minimum requirement is an NQF Level 6 qualification in Public Administration, Business Management, Law, or a related field.

Immigration Officer: Inspectorate (X14 Posts)

Fourteen Immigration Officer posts are available across multiple provinces. These officers enforce the Immigration Act and are responsible for detecting and processing illegal foreigners. The salary is also R280,278 per year at Level 06. Knowledge of the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, and South African Constitution is required.

Civic Services Supervisor (X3 Posts)

Three supervisor posts are based in KwaZulu-Natal (Ethekwini). The Civic Services Supervisor manages the daily operations of a Home Affairs local office and oversees the Civic Services and Immigration functions. Salary is R413,001 per year at Level 08.

Local Office Manager Posts

Home Affairs is recruiting Local Office Managers at two salary levels — five posts in total across KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo. The senior posts in Limpopo (Jane Furse) carry a salary of R1,101,468 per year at Level 12.
